ALPBA Holds 2010 Division Board Meeting

 


On September 03, 2010 the Alabama Division of the South States Police Benevolent Association met in Montgomery Alabama. The purpose for this meeting was to conduct political a screening for state offices in Alabama, and to hold their annual division board meeting.

Political screenings were held first. Issues were presented to candidates for the offices of governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general. After the completion of the screenings, members agreed to endorse Dr. Robert Bentley as governor, Jim Folsom as lieutenant governor and decided not to endorse a candidate for the office of attorney general.

The annual business meeting was held next. The minutes from the last meeting were approved, and reports given. The legislative agenda for the following year was set by the board members. The PBA members of the year for 2009 and 2010 were announced by President Scott Dennis Hill a long time PBA member and current regional director was presented the award for 2009. Paul Cody the hard working president of the Etowah/Cherokee Chapter as well as the Alabama Division’s Secretary/Treasurer was awarded the PBA member of the year for 2010.
