I Would Like To Share My History With SSPBA With You

In 1997,  I was in Camden, Arkansas at a officer survival seminar when I my first exposure to SSPBA.  It appeared to be the answer to a problem I had been having about officer coverage ( lawsuit ) since I had contacted Prepaid Legal on a simple matter of estate closure.  When I got no response from them on the matter, it really left me wondering how long would it take them to help me in a critical incident matter. To make a long story short, I became a member of SSPBA and it wasn't long before I was found on a steering committee.

A couple of years later I had my first occasion to call for an attorney after a vehicle pursuit and shots fired incident. I was extremely satisfied when my attorney beat me to the station. My attorney handled the matter very well and any departmental action that may have been intended was dismissed inside of the hour. The offender in the situation was later apprehended in a shootout with State Police and the Chief of Rector Police. I guess the good guy doesn't always get the bad guy on the first time out.

Although I have been in worse situation's in the past, this first situation with SSPBA backing me was a stark contrast to the coverage (assistance ) I received from Prepaid Legal and has made me a strong backer of SSPBA and what the association stands for.

I have been a member now for a number of year's and I am currently the President of the Northeast Chapter of  the Arkansas PBA.  I have found there is so much more to this organization than attorney representation, but that is for all my brother and sister officer's to discover for themselves. I know that all of you have different interest, whether securing better benefits for your dependants to making a better retirement in later years, the stage is being set to get this type of action going. If you can't get interested in your future, you may just want to set on the side lines and watch, but keep in mind," THIS IS OUR ORGANIZATION AND WE ARE THE ONES THAT WILL MAKE THIS ORGANIZATION WORK OR FAIL".
