Arkansas PBA is a division of Southern States Police Benevolent Association, Inc. At the on set of the meeting a very informative presentation was provided to board members regarding the Police Benevolent Foundation (PBF). All administrative cost in the operation of the foundation will be borne by Southern States PBA of which Arkansas PBA is a division. The IRS restricts the type of expenditures that may be made from a 501-c3 like as the PBF. The election of the Division board of directors was the final step in making Arkansas a recognized voting division of Southern States PBA. Next, members received reports from PBA staff relating to numerous topics, including membership growth, financial and legal issues of the division. Upon completion of the discussion on these issues, the board of directors adjourned their meeting until the completion of candidate screenings to be held on the next day. On Saturday, September 9th, candidates for US Congress seeking the Public endorsement of PBA were screened regarding issues of importance to the law enforcement profession. All candidates who had qualified in the State of Arkansas as a candidate for a congressional race were invited to the screening process. After screening all participating candidates the task of deliberating each race candidate by candidate began. This process promoted much discussion between board members. At the conclusion of all deliberation the new Arkansas PBA Board of Directors reconvened and voted to make the following endorsements which concluded the board’s agenda.
All law enforcement officers residing in Congressional District 2 and 3 are encouraged to vote on November 7th for the candidates endorsed by the Arkansas PBA Division. Please encourage friends and family members to also support these candidates.
