Final Round of NC House and Senate Screenings Complete

On September 18, 2006 candidate interviews were held for NC House and Senate races. These candidate interviews brought to a close the most ambitious screening process in the history of the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association. The candidates were asked and graded on a series of questions related to 25 year retirement, professional standards for Sheriff, due process for law enforcement officers, institutional problems with the NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission, and worker compensation and retirement loophole closure legislation. The candidate answers and input from the membership will be utilized to make final endorsements of selected candidates for the November general election. Members from the Triangle Chapter, Cary Chapter, Winston-Salem Chapter and the North Mecklenburg Chapter participated in this important process.
