To All Upper Cumberland PBA Members

I would like to take this opportunity to say hello to all the members of the Upper Cumberland Chapter of the Tennessee PBA.  I look forward to working with you to accomplish our goals.  The first thing I would like to do is express my appreciation to Eric Hall for his leadership, service and dedication to this chapter and for the development of a solid local organization.  We have some exciting work ahead of us all and with everyone's participation we can be successful.  As many of you know, the PBA conducted a salary and benefit comparison for Cookeville Police Dept and Putnam County Sheriff's Dept.  The City Council has received a copy of the survey and we have formally requested they consider our recommendations.  You may have seen a recent Herald-Citizen article, but unfortunately only part of the story was reported.  We asked for a $3500 increase in base salary for officers, a $1250 increase in base salary for dispatchers, extra pay for completion of 2-year and 4-year degrees and finally a shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts.  We will continue to work with the council to attain these goals.  We will also soon be working on recommendations to the County Commission.

We want to use this effort to solidify our membership in Putnam County and continue to expand in the rest of the Upper Cumberland. I encourage everyone to GET INVOLVED!!  There is only so much a handful of people can do, but collectively we can accomplish a great deal.
