Leadership Training

 

 

The goal of Leadership Training is to improve the ability of PBA chapter officers to lead and manage local PBA chapters. This goal is accomplished through membership growth, service to members and participation in the political process at the local, state and federal level.

 

Objectives

  • Understand the importance of providing leadership to the members.

  • Explain the importance of increasing membership.

  • Understand the value of providing quick and efficient service to members.

  • Describe the PBA' s fund raising process

  • Develop a plan to increase political activity in their chapter.

Description

A day-and-a-half training course designed to teach chapter leaders everything from the basics of running a meeting and using Robert's Rules of Order on how to lobby local, state and federal politicians. This course is designed to provide chapter leaders information and enhance communications with other PBA leaders from across the South.

Students will attend training at the Southern States PBA offices in McDonough, Georgia. Class begins at 8:30 a.m. each day. A delicious dinner is provided by SSPBA Thursday night. Students have an opportunity to network with employees from the various sections and meet and talk at length with Jack Roberts, SSPBA president. Class on the second day will conclude by 12:30.
