Cary, Wake County and Raleigh Chapters to Host 10th Annual George Almond Officer of the Year Banquet

The PBA has long held the reputation for educating the public about the daily work of law enforcement officers and the sacrifices they make to keep their communities safe. Through these education efforts many relationships with the community have led to partnerships that have benefited members of the PBA. The PBA also has an extensive history for creating solid and sustainable relationships with elected officials to effect positive change for their members.

HB 591 - Peace Officers Annuity and Benefit (POAB) Fund Update

December 16, 2015

HB 591 was introduced by Representative Bill Hitchens to shore up a stagnant Peace Officers Annuity and Benefit (POAB) Fund. To accomplish this, it would raise member contributions to $30.00 per month and add a 0.25% tax to all motor vehicle insurance premiums in Georgia. It is expected to fund a reasonable increase of the pension benefit for current and future fund members.

The Police Benevolent Foundation and South Carolina PBA deliver checks to Columbia police officers affected by flood

On Monday, December 14, 2015 the South Carolina Division of the Southern States PBA presented several Columbia police officers with checks from the Police Benevolent Foundation. The Police Benevolent Foundation and the South Carolina Division of the Southern States PBA rallied behind several Columbia police officers that were greatly affected by the flood.

The North Carolina PBA and the PBF establish fund for fallen Asheville PD Sergeant Jonathan Rikard

The Police Benevolent Foundation (PBF) and the North Carolina Division of the Southern States PBA would like to express their deepest sympathy and compassion to the family, friends and fellow law enforcement officers of Asheville Police Department Sergeant Jonathan Rikard. Sergeant Rikard died on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. Sergeant Rikard had served with the Asheville Police Department since June of 2003 and is survived by his wife, Nicole, and son, Tucker.

2nd Annual "Rock 4 the Cops" Benefit Concert Announced - An Evening With Scotty McCreery and Cassadee Pope

The highly successful "Rock 4 the Cops" benefit concert is set to return to the Country Club in Augusta, Ga. on January 14, 2016. Proceeds from "Rock 4 the Cops" will benefit the Georgia Post Critical Incident Seminar (PCIS) through the Police Benevolent Foundation.

Two PBA members travel 130 miles to participate in the Augusta, Ga Race for the Fallen

Two PBA members and detectives from the Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department made the 130-mile trek to participate in the Augusta Race for the Fallen event. PBA Coastal Counties Chapter President, Rob Santoro and Coastal Counties Chapter Secretary, Rebekah Gregory made the trip to support the law enforcement community.
