HB 329 Update

UPDATE: On Thursday,  April 11, 2013 we came within 4 places on the special order calander to vote on HB 329 in the House when the legislature adjourned at approximately 11:00 AM because of pending bad weather apporching. That means we must reintroduce the bill in the rules committee to be placed back on the special order chandler in the House.
 
Under existing law, the protection against disclosure of certain personal identifying information about a state employee on any document is available for public inspection applies only to those state employees who are subject to the state Merit System. A bill that is sponsored by the Alabama PBA would amend Section 41-13-7, code of Alabama 1975, to expand that protection against disclosure to include employees of the criminal justice sector employed at any level of government within the state.
