Legislative Alert! House Bill 1433 - Death Benefits

This bill increases the death benefits for officers killed in the line of duty from $65,000.00 to $100,000.00. The bill has passed the House and Senate and will now be transmitted to the Governor for his approval. If approved by the Governor it will become law effective July 1, 2014.

Thanks to all of you who supported our efforts to pass this legislation by attending the press conference on January 30, 2014 at the capitol and/or contacting your senators and representatives requesting they vote for passage of the bill. To my knowledge there were no opposing votes from any member of the House or Senate on the final votes on this legislation. Please call or email your legislator and let them know we appreciate their support.

Thanks,

She laughed, "They only kept them because they know if I don't come home to see family, I'll for sure come back to see my critters."
