
PBA Leader Re-appointed

On Aug. 14, 2020, David Rose was re-appointed by North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein to serve a second three (3) year term on the NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.

He also serves on the following:
NC PBA Division Secretary, President of the Winston-Salem/Triad Chapter
Commissioner in the Winston-Salem Police Officers Retirement Commission
Board member at Forsyth County Experiment In Self-Reliance
Committee Member for Leadership Winston-Salem Government Day
Committee Member for the WSPD Peer Commendation Review Committee
Rose was born in Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga. and was raised in east Tennessee and southwest Virginia. He is one of seven sons and he has a twin brother. Rose graduated from Kingsport Christian High School in May 1989. While attending high school, he lettered in basketball, baseball, soccer and track. He credits his high school basketball coach, Don Bell, as being one of the most influential people in his early life.
After high school, Rose attended college at what is now Piedmont International University in Winston-Salem. While there, he met his wife, Nichole, and they recently celebrated 27 years of marriage. They have two sons, Tyler and Austin. Tyler is a police officer in Winston-Salem and Austin is in the agriculture business.
Rose would go on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Management and Ethics from John Wesley College.
Rose began working for the Winston-Salem Police Department in August of 1995. While there he has served as a patrol officer, foot patrol officer, robbery detective, and a homicide detective. He was promoted to sergeant in Oct. 2006 and to Lieutenant in October, 2017. He currently serves in the department’s Vice/Narcotics Unit.
In the fall of 2015, Rose chaired the steering committee that re-established the Winston-Salem Triad Chapter of the NCPBA. He is the president of the Winston-Salem Triad Chapter and serves on the Division Board as secretary. In 2017, he was initially appointed to the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission by Attorney General Josh Stein.
Rose has been a PBA member for his entire career, over 25 years.

Working, volunteering her time with Habitat for Humanity, and playing soccer for Pinecrest High School kept Hailey Klingenschmidt busy during her high school years. Still, she was able to maintain straight A?s, even with five rigorous AP courses and six dual enrollment classes in the mix. Now, as a freshman at UNC Charlotte, she is drafting a promising future in her college years and beyond.

Belmont, N.C., like so many other small towns in the south, slows down significantly on Friday nights in the fall. It has to ? because otherwise, too many people would miss the chance to gather in support of something that matters deeply to this close-knit community: the South Point High Red Raiders football team.
