The Virginia Police Benevolent Association Endorses Nick Freitas for Congress
Culpeper, VA – Today, the Virginia Police Benevolent Association endorsed Green Beret combat veteran Nick Freitas, the Republican nominee for Congress in Virginia’s 7th District. The Virginia Police Benevolent Association is a division of the Southern States Police Benevolent Association, which represents more than 60,000 law enforcement officers that work at the local, state, and federal levels.
Nick Freitas, a decorated Green Beret combat veteran and son of a police officer, stated the following in accepting the VAPBA endorsement:
“I was raised with a strong appreciation for those that put their lives on the line to protect our communities and our nation. I am honored that they have put their trust in me to provide leadership in Congress that will protect our law enforcement officers and protect our communities.”
”Nick Freitas’ position of support for law enforcement in Virginia has been displayed recently during the special session of the General Assembly by his votes against the extreme anti police legislation being offered. We are confident Nick will continue his support of our law enforcement professionals on a federal level as he serves the seventh district of Virginia in Congress” said Joe Woloszyn, President Virginia Police Benevolent Association.
Virginia needs leaders like Nick Freitas who see the importance of strong, effective law enforcement. The VAPBA urges the citizens of Virginia to support Nick for Congress in Virginia’s 7th District in this upcoming general election.
The Virginia Police Benevolent Association is a division of the Southern States Police Benevolent Association, Inc., a not-for-profit professional organization dedicated to improving the law enforcement profession. PBA members are full-time or retired employees of the various federal, state, county and municipal law enforcement and correctional agencies in Virginia. This professional association, funded by membership dues and citizen contributions, provides legal, legislative, disciplinary and other representation to member officers as well as an accidental death benefit to members’ beneficiaries. The PBA prohibits members from engaging in or condoning any strike by law enforcement officers, electing instead to represent members through aggressive political action.
