VAPBA Legislative Update December 2012

Members and Friends,

The opening of the 2013 Legislative session of the Virginia General Assembly rapidly approaches. The bills pre-files as of 1100am on December 21, 2012 are listed below. This is for your information only and no position or action has been taken on any bill thus far. 

Your State Board of Directors and I are planning a day to visit our legislators early in the session, I will notify all members once a date has been deceided, all are welcome to attend.

PBA Member and Former Fairfax County Officer Issued Pardon

March 4, 2026

On January 15, 2026, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin issued a pardon of PBA member and former Fairfax County Officer Wesley Shifflett, who had been convicted of reckless handling of a firearm in regard to a line-of-duty shooting incident in 2023.
