Virginia Conservation Police Officer Chapter hosts first officer appreciation dove hunt and barbeque

PBA members and guests

Chapter members and dignitaries met on October 20th at Mr. Rick Sharp’s farm in King George Virginia for the event. Hosts Craig Suro and Chris Rivers spent the afternoon with PBA members enjoying the beautiful fall weather and smoked pork barbeque.

Also in attendance were Department of Game and Inland Fisheries Director Bob Duncan, Department of Game and Inland Fisheries Board Member Brent Clarke and David Johnson, Director of Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Although the birds did not cooperate, a good time was had by all.  A box of clay birds and a skeet thrower provided target practice and an opportunity for some gun time.

The Conservation Police Officer Chapter looks forward to making this a yearly event that will promote fellowship and communication among the chapter, with agency leaders, and our elected officials.

Chapter President Sonny Nipper with Wayne Weller and Chris Rivers.

VAPBA Natural Resources Police Chapter Update

June 19, 2013

On June 13th, we held a Conservation Police Chapter meeting in Williamsburg. Thanks again to George Wilson for setting up an excellent location. Among those in attendance were five of our new members from the Virginia Marine Resources Commission. Due to their interest and attendance we spent the majority of the meeting familiarizing them with our chapter and the PBA. I provided a brief history of our chapter's evolution and activities over the past couple years and we discussed some of the issues we have faced as well as the direction we are planning to go with our chapter.
