Ripley Mississippi Comes to the Aid of a Fallen Officer
December 14, 2010 On Friday, December 10, 2010 the Police Benevolent Foundation along with members of the Mississippi Police Benevolent Association rallied together to raise funds for a fallen brother. Tippah County, MS Sheriff's Deputy Dewayne Crenshaw was shot and killed while responding to a call in the early morning hours of December 3rd in Ripley, Mississippi. Deputy Crenshaw was a decorated military veteran as well as an outstanding law enforcement officer, and the PBF wanted to make sure that the Ripley community had a way to show their support for the family of this hero who paid the ultimate sacrifice. The PBF, MSPBA, Action News 5 in Memphis, TN and the Ripley Wal-Mart came together to hold a 15-hour fundraiser for the family of Deputy Crenshaw. This magnificent display of community support and unity took place outside of the Ripley Wal-Mart store, and Action News 5 broadcasted live coverage from the scene throughout the day. |

December 8, 2010 The Police Benevolent Foundation (PBF) and the Mississippi Police Benevolent Association would like to express its deepest sympathy and compassion to the family, friends and fellow law enforcement officers of Tippah County Sheriff's Deputy Dewayne Crenshaw who was fatally shot while responding to a call just before dawn on Friday, December 3, 2010. Deputy Crenshaw paid the ultimate sacrifice, and it is with a heavy heart that the PBF asks for the help of the local community to aid in their efforts to provide much needed support for this deputy's beneficiaries in their time of need. The PBF will be hosting a fundraiser at the Walmart in Ripley, MS located at 822 City Avenue South this Friday from 6am until 10pm and is encouraging all local citizens to come by and make a quick and easy donation to aid the survivors of Deputy Dewayne Crenshaw. |
