The Middle Georgia County Chapter of the Police Benevolent Association of Georgia announces endorsement of Sam Hart for Mayor of Macon-Bibb

The Middle Georgia Chapter of the Police Benevolent Association of Georgia (PBAGA) recently held candidate screenings for those officials seeking to become the Mayor of the new Macon-Bibb consolidated government.  Four of the six mayoral candidates responded to an invitation to attend the political screening and were asked a series of identical questions during in-person interviews.  During the screening process, Sam Hart demonstrated why his experiences and values make him uniquely qualified to represent the voters of Macon-Bibb County.  He also demonstrated that he is committed to making strong effective law enforcement a priority in his campaign.  That is why the Middle Georgia Chapter of the PBAGA is proud to announce their support by endorsing Sam Hart for Mayor of Macon-Bibb.

Commissioner Sam Hart is currently responsible for management of county-wide services; working closely with department heads to establish policies, rules and regulations that govern the health, safety, and security of all citizens.  “With fourteen years of experience on the Board of County Commissioners and the fact that Chairman Hart is doing the job now that the new mayor will be doing was a key factor in the selection,” said PBAGA Executive Director Joe Stiles.

“Commissioner Hart is committed to making strong, effective law enforcement a priority in his campaign.  He is a leader who is a consensus builder and can bring the community together to continue the progress for all citizens of Macon-Bibb. Commissioner Hart is well known for his ‘Think Community: Creating the Future Together’ approach to leadership and decision-making. We also agree with the Commissioner in that continuity of leadership is the most important factor to ensure that the tremendous amount of momentum already being experienced in Macon-Bibb reaches its fullest potential,” said Stiles.

When asked about this honor, Commissioner Hart said, “This is a very important announcement because what it says to me is that this group feels that I am the one who can best work with them.  It's a partnership, especially in terms of the new arrangement with Sheriff Davis being the chief law enforcement officer.  The PBA’s decision to endorse me confirms my commitment to fight crime and to ensure that law enforcement officers have adequate training and equipment to do their jobs effectively.”
