The North Mecklenburg Chapter of NCPBA is Set to Hold Community Holiday Food Drive

Huntersville – The North Mecklenburg Chapter of the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association (NCPBA) is coordinating a canned food drive on Saturday, December 20th from noon to 5 p.m., at the Wal-Mart in Huntersville, NC (11145 Bryton Town Center Drive.) Off-duty police officers from Huntersville and Davidson will be collecting canned goods in front of the store to benefit the Ada Jenkins Center and the Angels and Sparrows Soup Kitchen. Officers will fill the Huntersville Police Department’s colorful DARE Truck with donations from shoppers.

The canned food drive will collect various items with the support of Wal-Mart customers. Shoppers will be asked to pick up a few extra items to help the Ada Jenkins Center and the Angels and Sparrows Soup Kitchen with their mission to provide services to area residents during this holiday season.

The Ada Jenkins Center provides crisis assistance to area residents and the Angels and Sparrows Soup Kitchen provides meals to those who would otherwise go without. The North Mecklenburg Chapter of the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association is asking for the communities’ assistance in making this event a success.

The North Carolina Police Benevolent Association is a division of the Southern States Police Benevolent Association, Inc., a not-for-profit professional organization dedicated to improving the law enforcement profession.  PBA members are full-time or retired employees of the various federal, state, county and municipal law enforcement and correctional agencies in North Carolina.  This professional association, funded by membership dues and citizen contributions, provides legal, legislative, disciplinary and other representation to member officers as well as an accidental death benefit to members’ beneficiaries.  The PBA prohibits members from engaging in or condoning any strike by law enforcement officers, electing instead to represent members through aggressive political action.
