The Police Benevolent Foundation and the Wake County Chapter of the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina develop partnership

On Friday, December 3, 2010, NCPBA President, Randy Byrd, met with Laura Falanga in Raleigh to receive a $1,000.00 check from the Wake Chapter of the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina (IIANC). This donation was made possible through the efforts of local chapter members.

NCPBA Legislative Update: June 10, 2011

As reported last week, following opposition to the LEO Retirement Restrictions in HB927, the bill sponsor, Representative Dale Folwell, proposed a meeting with group stakeholders for this past Tuesday, June 7, 2011. That meeting did occur for about two hours beginning at 10:00 a.m. in Representative Folwell's office.

The Police Benevolent Foundation is set to aid the family of fallen Dickson County (TN) Sheriff's Deputy Keith Bellar

The Police Benevolent Foundation, Inc. and the Tennessee Division of the Southern States PBA are in mourning as one of their own, Deputy Keith Bellar of the Dickson County Sheriff's Office, was shot in the head while responding to what he believed was a motor vehicle accident that turned out to be a domestic dispute on Monday, June 6th.

The Police Benevolent Foundation, Inc. and the Tennessee Division of the Southern States PBA are in mourning as one of their own, Deputy Keith Bellar of the Dickson County Sheriff's Office, was shot in the head while responding to what he believed was a motor vehicle accident that turned out to be a domestic dispute on Monday, June 6th. Deputy Bellar was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died Tuesday morning from injuries. Deputy Bellar paid the ultimate sacrifice, and it is with a heavy heart that the PBF asks for the help of the community, both locally and nationally, to aid in their efforts to provide much needed support for this deputy's beneficiaries in their time of need.

The Police Benevolent Foundation Set to Aid the Family of Bertie County Sheriff's Deputy Kenneth Cobb

April 25, 2011

The Police Benevolent Foundation, Inc. and the North Carolina Division of the Southern States PBA are in mourning as one of their own, Deputy Kenneth Cobb of the Bertie County Sheriff's Office, and his three year old son were tragically killed in accident late Sunday afternoon. Cobb's wife remains in critical condition at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

The Police Benevolent Foundation's efforts prove to be a huge success in aiding the family of fallen Trumann Police Officer Jonathan Schmidt

April 20, 2011

The Police Benevolent Foundation, Inc. and the Arkansas Division of the Southern States PBA banded together with two local Arkansas communities on Monday, April 18th to help raise funds for the family of a fallen Trumann police officer. Officer Jonathan Schmidt of the Trumann Police Department was shot and killed about 11:30 P.M. on Tuesday, April 12th during a traffic stop. Fundraisers in honor of Officer Schmidt took place at the Wal-Mart locations in both Jonesboro and Trumann, Arkansas on Monday, April 18th.
