Letter to the Editor: Police Officers Take a Hit in City Budget Proposal

Members of the Alexandria Chapter of the Police Benevolent Association have expressed deep concerns over the City Manager's proposed changes to the City's health insurance program and the police and fire pension. Both of these changes will have a major impact on the lives of police officers and their families. While our officers have long lagged behind our comparator jurisdictions in salary, they have always been able to point to their benefits as something that helped maintain their compensation level; this is no longer the case.

PBA of Georgia 2013 State Legislative Report (April)

April 1, 2013

The 2013 Georgia General Assembly ended on March 28, 2013. The following bills have passed both the House and Senate this year. HB 55 has already been signed into law by the Governor. But the Governor has up to 40 days to sign or veto the other bills or they will become law on the effective date of the bill without his signature.

East Central Chapter of the MSPBA holds successful fundraiser for family of fallen Enterprise Police Chief Randy Boykin

On Saturday, March 30, 2013, members of the East Central Chapter of the Mississippi Police Benevolent Association conducted a fundraiser for Chief Randy Boykin's family. The fundraiser took place at Lowe's Home Improvement in Meridian, Mississippi. Hundreds of local citizens came out to support Chief Randy Boykin's family and made heartfelt contributions.

The Police Benevolent Foundation and Arkansas PBA set to aid the family of fallen Fifth Judicial District Drug Task Force Director Larry Johnson

The Police Benevolent Foundation, Inc. and the Arkansas Division of the Southern States PBA are in mourning for one of their own and rallying behind the family of Fifth Judicial District Drug Task Force Director Larry Johnson. Director Johnson suffered a fatal heart attack while involved in a foot pursuit with a parolee in Clarksville, Arkansas. Director Larry Johnson was a true hero and will be missed by all that knew him.

Fellow Officers Helping Lynchburg Officer Fighting Cancer

Fellow officers establish a fund to help a Lynchburg Police officer fighting Cancer. Officer Jordan Spaeth, 26, was diagnosed with testicular Cancer in December.

The Police Benevolent Foundation to hold fundraiser for fallen Enterprise Police Chief Randy Boykin at area Lowe's store

Members from the East Central Chapter of the Mississippi PBA will be hosting a fundraiser at the Lowe?s Home Improvement Store in Meridian located at 100 15th Place South near Bonita Lakes on Saturday, March 30th from 7:00am to 4:00pm.
