HB 482 gets signed into law

This bill amends OCGA 42-2-16 and 42-9-9 to allow certified corrections and parole officers with at least 20 years of honorable service to retain their department issued weapon and badge upon retirement.

VAPBA Conservation Chapter Update

April 18, 2013

Welcome to all of our new Virginia Conservation Police Chapter members, particularly those who just recently joined from VMRC. After a request from officers in the Virginia Marine Resources Commission, the PBA recruiter is making presentations at several of their area meetings. After two meetings with VMRC officers, their membership has grown to over two dozen.

The Police Benevolent Foundation to hold fundraiser for fallen Faulkner County Sheriff's Deputy Hans Fifer at two area Wal-Mart stores

April 12, 2013

Members from the North Central Chapter of the Arkansas PBA will be hosting a fundraiser at two area Wal-Mart stores. The PBF and the ARPBA has teamed up with the Conway Wal-Mart stores located at 3900 Dave Ward Drive and 1155 U.S. 65 and will be collecting donations for the family of Deputy Fifer from 8:00am to 8:00pm on Monday, April 22, 2013.

The Arkansas PBA, the Police Benevolent Foundation, Clarksville Police Department and friends are hosting a benefit chicken/fish dinner and silent auction for the family of Larry Johnson on Friday April 12, 2013 at the Johnson County Fair Building from 4pm to 8pm.

The Police Benevolent Foundation and Arkansas PBA set to aid the family of fallen Faulkner County Sheriff's Deputy Hans Fifer

The Police Benevolent Foundation, Inc. and the Arkansas Division of the Southern States PBA are in mourning for one of their own and rallying behind the family of Faulkner County Sheriff's Deputy Hans Fifer. Deputy Fifer suffered a fatal heart attack after completing a SWAT training program.

Letter to the Editor: Police Officers Take a Hit in City Budget Proposal

Members of the Alexandria Chapter of the Police Benevolent Association have expressed deep concerns over the City Manager's proposed changes to the City's health insurance program and the police and fire pension. Both of these changes will have a major impact on the lives of police officers and their families. While our officers have long lagged behind our comparator jurisdictions in salary, they have always been able to point to their benefits as something that helped maintain their compensation level; this is no longer the case.
